Director of Program Quality


Provide seeks an effective, strategic, and results-driven individual to design and manage training, technical assistance, curriculum, and analysis support for programs implementation staff. As the Director of Program Quality, this individual ensures functionality of training quality support, technical assistance support, curriculum resources and materials, and analysis with the goal of supporting exceptional delivery of abortion referrals training and technical assistance via the programs implementation team.




This is a full time (40 hr/week) remote work position based in the United States. Travel for staff is required for organizational meetings (5%).  This position reports to the Senior Director of Programs. This position supervises staff that are working in:

  • Staff training and technical assistance quality: providing ongoing training and support to prepare staff to deliver consistently high-quality training and technical assistance
  • Curriculum and materials development: the development, review and updates of abortion referrals training and technical assistance curricula and materials
  • Analysis and research: the research of trends in healthcare and social service delivery, that explores structures of targeted systems, expansion opportunities, and otherwise contributes to quality and innovation in Provide’s programming


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Govern effective support for quality training and technical assistance – 35%

  • Leads a team that supports implementation of training, outreach and TA


  • Supervises the design and management of a comprehensive staff training program that supports Program Implementation staff to achieve articulated standards of high quality training and TA, including onboarding for new staff and ongoing staff development


  • Monitors effectiveness of training and technical assistance support and makes adjustments where needed
  • Builds and stewards processes between quality and implementation departments to foster collaboration and accountability


Leads project and process management related to analysis, materials, and quality- 25%

  • Designs and manages intra- and cross-departmental projects and processes toward the efficient achievement of departmental goals, including:
  • Training and TA quality
  • Training and TA materials
  • ongoing analysis of trends in the service delivery landscape and legislative landscape that meets the needs of executive team, program leadership, and program implementation


  • Perform additional team responsibilities – 10% Contributes to effective project and process management outside the quality department as directed by the Senior Director of Programs: 10%
    • Proposes and develops new processes that support efficiency and more effective implementation of core programming and organizational functionality
    • Leads project management of priority projects, ensuring effective and timely partnership of project contributors


Maintains curriculum and technical assistance resources – 20%

  • Solicits and generates proposals for new and/or revised training and TA materials
  • Supervises production of new materials as directed by the Senior Director of Programs
  • Organizes and oversees routine and ongoing updates/improvements to existing curricula and other training and TA resources, integrating feedback from evaluation and program implementation staff and ensuring that materials are accurate, up-to-date, and responsive to program needs and priorities
  • Provides training and support to program implementation staff to ensure timely uptake of new or revised resources and materials
  • Identifies, proposes, and manages collaborative materials-development projects with, and/or seeks endorsements of the referrals training program/curriculum from partner organizations and other influential partners
  • Collaborates effectively with external relations staff around materials production, distribution, and promotion
  • Attends team meetings regularly and with enthusiasm
  • Represents Provide at conferences and coalition meetings as requested
  • Participates in fundraising, visibility events, board meetings, and other program activities as requested
  • Demonstrates excellence in Provide’s Core Competencies as staff with supervisory responsibilities


Skills and qualifications


  • 3-5 years of experience in project management and process improvement
  • Affinity for cultivating working relations with diverse stakeholders
  • Appreciation ‘adaptive leadership’ and transition management
  • Proven ability in:
    • Managing and coaching work performance in a diverse staff/team
    • Creative relationship building and networking across long distances
    • effectively managing multiple projects with strong attention to detail

    • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Ability to work in a telecommuting, team oriented environment
    • Excellent communication skills (in-person, email, phone, status reports, managing documents, remote meetings)
    • Good at problem solving and working with ongoing learning curves
    • Advance comfort level with using Provide’s technology programs

Salary and Benefits


The Director of Program Quality is a tier III position.  Starting salary is $50, 000 to $60,000 commensurate with relevant experience, in addition to a generous benefits package. Provide offers scheduled performance-based salary increases on a 6-month cycle for the first 24 months of employment and on a 2-year cycle thereafter.
